The Super Supercard of Shakey’s
December 10, 2011Eating out is a family treat for us. Whenever we can afford to, my husband or me or both of us will treat our children to any restaurant we feel like dining in. The city we live in is not that big, so we don’t have much choices. Often, we opt to go to a mall where good restaurants can be found. One favorite resto of mine is Shakey’s! It’s one of the pizza restaurants I’ve always loved. But it’s seldom I get to eat there because I always want to stay within my set budget for the month.
But that all changed a month ago. When my family and I dined in there, the waiter offered me Shakey’s Supercard. It was worth P300 so I told him I’ll think about it first. But when he said I can get the second order of pizza for free, I immediately agreed!
The Shakey’s crew explained that every time we dine in or order a delivery, as long as I have a Supercard then I get to take advantage of a Buy One Take One promo! Isn’t that Super?!
And this is valid for one year! So I get to get more from my investment of P300.00! I simply love it!
Here’s the Buy One Take One Pizzas we got or what’s left of them:
Because of the promo we got for having the Supercard, we got to order additional meals - Chick and Chips - that disappeared fast too… and dessert. We ordered the A la Mode which was a good deal too, since it has 3 scoops of different flavors of ice cream and a thick round crusted yet moist in the inside marble biscuit. We did not feel our big meal was hurting our pockets too much.
So, if you’re like us who want to always get good deals from our hard-earned moneys, do get the Shakey’s Supercard. It’s really SUPER!
Extra! Extra! Re-Engineering
December 9, 2011What?…
Yup! I’m re-engineering “All Things Lovable”. It’s going to be more focused now on THINGS that I love, have tried and want to try just as I have really intended it to be in the first place.
Why only now?
I think because I have been afraid to really speak about stuff that I have used or wanted to use…that’s the shy-side of me, you could say…
So do stay-tuned for beauty product reviews, food reviews, shop reviews, place reviews, some gadget reviews and more reviews!
If you have product reviews of your own, please feel free to contact me by commenting on any of my posts and we can arrange for your guest blogging, if you like:)
I hope you would all still keep your eyes on “All Things Lovable” and my other blogs “Fudgy and Nutty” and my newest baby - “And So I Tell My Story“…the former is undergoing some re-engineering too while the latter is a result of my blog post segregations.(wink-wink)

Health Tips After The Storm
September 7, 2011It’s been almost two days here in our city since the last time that a strong downpour of rain occurred. The last storm named “Mina” has left the Philippines four days ago according to the local weather news but rainshowers continued in many northern parts of the country especially in the afternoon. Why? I really don’t know. Especially the mind boggling reason why the clouds chose to cry between 3PM until 5 PM. It never fails. This I’ve noticed within the days of this week.
Aside from this, what concerns me the most is the after effects of strong storms to me and my family’s health. I’m pretty sure, whether you are a mother or not, this is of top priority to you too.
After a storm, the water supply is most commonly the first resource to be affected. Either the supply is cut or it becomes quite dirty, not conducive for drinking and cooking. So for tip #1, use bottled water or boiled water as much as possible for both drinking and cooking until your local government announces that it is safe to use tap water for such needs already.
However, until this happens, stick with bottled or boiled water.
If only we can use bottled or filtered water for bathing, I would take advantage of this!… But this is not the case here in our country. Often the water supply in many areas is not as clean as we want it to be. My eldest daughter acquired amoebiasis from drinking a little tap water while taking a bath when she was 6 years old. The attacks always make me so nervous because she would have diarrhea and vomiting episodes. This made her a carrier for 20 years. She still has 12 years to go. So we always tell her to be careful with her food and water intake to avoid trigerring these parasites.
Tip #2 is for before, during and after the storm. Always have your daily intake of multivitamins. Strengthen your immune syste, especially with vitamin C to stay away from coughs and colds and other illnesses caused by the cold weather.
Tip #3 check all food supply for expiration and spoilage. Storms cause black outs and this means “No Refrigerator” which also means, most fresh food like meat and vegetables will spoil faster. After a storm, make sure to smell and inspect the remaining food you have stored. Utilize canned food and the like first until you can buy fresh supplies again.
If your house was flooded, make sure to wash utensils, plates, pots and pans thoroughly before using them for cooking again and that’s tip #4.
Keep these in mind to be on top of your health all the time!
Hair Care - My Simple Tips
August 4, 2011
Not to boast but I consider my thick locks as one of my assets. It has often been praised by friends and family as being black, thick, and shiny. My crowning glory of straight hair has always added to my beauty, ehem, hehe.. and I love it and care for it in the most gentle and natural way. I’ve tried having it rebonded for a more straight and silkier look 2 years ago but I realized it looks better without any harsh treatments at all.
So I made it an oath to just take care of it mildly and naturally.
Friends have asked me what I use to have healthy looking locks so I’d like to share the simple things I do for it.
Here they are:
- Shampoo and use conditioner every other day. This I learned in one salon when I was having my hair trimmed. The attendant told me that shampooing everyday is not advisable because it strips the hair of its natural oils. So I just shampoo my hair every other day. I adhere to this strictly except when I have been out for a long time and I’ve been to dusty places.
- Use mild shampoo. Now not many may agree with me on this but this has worked for my hair and skin. I just use baby shampoo on my hair because I have very sensitive skin. I breakout from the harsh chemicals of regular shampoo so I opted to use the mildest of shampoos. Some baby shampoos will make your hair dry so like regular shampoo, you also need to choose one which will clean your hair and not dry it out. But they clean as good as regular shampoo.
- Put conditioner only at the tips of your hair.I know many girls do this already. The main reason is to avoid dandruff and for me, to avoid breakouts again. The oils in conditioners just add to the oils in my face so I avoid having it get in contact with my face as much as possible. This has helped me avoid split-ends besides dandruff too.
- Comb thoroughly. This is one routine which takes me some time after taking a bath because I have hair which reaches my wasteline. But I love doing this because I feel this thorough action keeps my scalp squicky clean.
- Avoid tying it often and too tight. This is true even for curly hair. Tying your hair too tight may just contribute to split ends and breaking of the strands. So as often as you can just let your hair down and breathe. I look at tying the hair in a pony tail for example, as a need, like when I’m cleaning the house and seldom for fashion.
-
This one I have learned from my mother and I’d really give credit to her about this. I use aloe vera as my hot oil treatment for my hair. I do this once a week or more when I can. I just put and massage the pure gel from the aloe leaves on my scalp and let it stay there for 15 to 30 minutes before rinsing with water and my baby shampoo. This regimen has helped me minimize hair fall and always leaves my hair shinier!
That’s it! My hair care is very simple yet it has kept my locks healthy and full of volume and life which makes me love my hair more:-)
Proud Mother
July 27, 2011The news of “No Classes” was announced early in the morning because of the prevailing storm here in our country. I was actually surprised that my children did not consider this as good news at all. They reasoned they have a lot to do in school that’s why they hope there were classes today. Aside from learning their subjects, of course, like all children they enjoy playing, singing and talking a lot! They just have a lot to do in school! And as my children emphasize and put it, they “don’t have anything to do” in the house today.
So as a goooood mother and seeing the clutter of toys, clothes and shoes in their room, I gave them A LOT of things to do!;-)
I was ready to hear their complaints and protests…but they surprised me again! After eating their breakfast and some sibling squabbles, they went to their room and fixed the stuff I pointed out early on! I did not check on it right away after they announced they were done and again, I readied myself to tidy things up in their room. But when I went inside, everything was tidy and neat, not perfect but things are in it’s proper places:-)
I was so thankful for their orderliness and cleanliness and their regard for my word. I’m praying this happens everyday. But even if it’s just going to be today, I’m still proud of how responsible and obedient my children were^_^

A friend once described me as a no nonsense person always striving for excellence, she may be right because I have always looked for perfection and organization in everything around me.
But my mind is not too shallow either, I should say, because experience has taught me to look into the positive things in others and the beauty in things despite their mistakes or imperfections and I have learned to accept and understand those pockmarks through time. This I think is "the perfect perfectionist mindset" and I'm glad I have it.
